With the staff in mind, Alberta Land & Lease Ltd. made the decision to move our office from Calgary to Airdrie in 2007.  For client meetings our office is still an easy commute to downtown Calgary but provides a greater work/life balance for our staff.

Each member of our team is required to be proficient in the Alberta Energy Regulatory (“AER”) Directive 56 and current AUC and AESO regulation requirements.  Alberta Land & Lease Ltd. prides itself on being AER/AUC/AESO compliant, proven by several successful audits, on both sweet and sour projects as well as Transmission Right of Ways.

Our commitment to be the “Best Little Land Broker in Alberta” doesn’t mean we’re too small to handle your projects, it means our clients get the best of the best, as all staff are more aware of each project and are able to answer your questions and queries quickly and efficiently.  We pride ourselves on keeping our company small to avoid losing touch with our client and staff’s needs.

Accuracy is very important in land and at Alberta Land & Lease Ltd. we believe that it is one of the key elements to our success.  Our team strives for, and delivers, accuracy in the preparation of documents for field negotiations, notifications and third party requests, as well as in our client packages.

Our Land Agents research and review current area values to ensure land values are kept in line with other companies and present real estate values in the area.  As the demands from Landowners/Occupants increase we believe in ensuring that the offers we present during our negotiations are fair and equitable for both the Landowner/Occupant and our client.

Our Management Team

Sandy C. Johnson – President and Senior Landman

Sandy started Alberta Land & Lease Ltd. in June of 1998.  He holds a diploma from Olds College in the Land Agent Program.  Sandy’s experience over the years, working for companies that include Norcen Energy, Archer Resources, Guard Resources and Alberta Land & Lease Ltd., has given him a broad range of knowledge which include working from Northern Alberta (Peace River area) to the Southern Alberta border.

Sandy still makes time to go to the field to negotiate and acquire surface rights.  He feels this is very important as it allows him to remain familiar with Landowner/Occupant demands as the industry regulations and farming practices change.  Sandy has Surface Rights Board Hearing experience and is an active member of the International Right-of-Way Association (IRWA) and Alberta Association of Surface Land Agents (AASLA).

Liz Dell – Supervisor, Land Administration

Liz joined Alberta Land & Lease Ltd. in June of 1998.  Prior to joining Alberta Land & Lease Ltd. Liz spent over ten years working in drilling and completions.  Being very interested in surface land she then transferred to a Land Department within a small oil and gas company and attended night school and graduated from SAIT, with honors, in the Land Administration Certificate Program.

In addition to our Management Team, we have a fantastic group of individuals, each of which brings their experience from various different companies and backgrounds.  This adds to the knowledge base that the Management Team already has.
